MLB All Star Game
I know that not many are interested in baseball these days but I watched the start of last night's all star game and I am glad I did. This was Derek Jeter's last all star game and I am not a Yankees fan. He was given a 1 minute standing aviation when he led off the first inning and all of the fans stood and all of the players removed their hats for a 1 minute tribute. He had 2 hits and scored the first run as well as making an outstanding play at short. When he was taken out he received another ovation and took a curtain call. He shook hands and hugged everyone in the dugout. He represents an era not seen much anymore and is a class act. I am an Orioles fan and Jeter and Cal Ripken are like the players I admired and respected when I was growing up. No drugs, fan friendly, especially to the kids, generous to various charities and played the game hard. They are a dying breed but they gave me many years of joy and pleasure watching them do what they do best.

49 views and one reply. One reason I don't post very much and will probably be going elsewhere. It seems certain people get many more replies to their posts. So adios, it had been nice.

I didn't reply because I'm not a big Jeter fan. I figure if you don't have anything nice to say.... Of course I have nothing bad to say about him either. See you all in Cincinnati next year for the All Star game.
