It is a little over 3100 sq ft. The master suite occupies the wing to the right of the front and has a master bath, large closet, sitting/dressing room and bedroom. The stair case goes up from the foyer to a landing/gallery area that overlooks the living room and then leads to the two bedrooms and upstairs rec room.

Interesting tidbit: We found the house on the internet and I called an s2ki club member (Xzanna) who works near the house down on Pawley's Island. She cruised by on her way home from work, checked it out and gave me a full report. We came down and made an offer within a few days. Its my s2ki house.

Congrats on pulling the trigger, Val Sounds like a great area for a "south'n gal"

Only question that I would have: 3100 SF sounds like a lot of space to clean and maintain Our current house is about 2500 SF and a little more than we need...mostly for the two of us. Of course, it's great to have space for family visitors.

What's your mother think of the move? As you've explained how independent she is, will she come to visit?

Congrats again! I'm so glad it finally got settled and you can tell the world about it. (Val and the +1 got an incredible deal on this place). It is gorgeous. Looking forward to going down there to check it out in person. Granny and MsP, rolling into the driveway in an RV! Could happen...

My mother is thrilled. I told her we'll have a very private guest room with bath upstairs and she can come and stay as long as she likes. She (always the one-upper) said she may come and never leave. That would be fine with me.
We'll have one less bedroom and less storage space than we have now, so we're taking it down a notch and having to downsize in furniture and "stuff". The rec room is much smaller than our current space as well. The kitchen is larger which makes me happy, the master suite is larger, which also makes me happier and the house is very open and airy, so I'm not overly concerned about the cleaning.

Congrats Jim and Val. As a former resident of SC for 10years, Myrtle Beach area has many happy memories for me. Saw a clip on the news to night showing Lynchburg VA with snow. That alone would make me want to move. Look forward to seeing you both one settled.

Congratulations and best of luck Val. I love that house!!! Please find more for the rest of us. It sounds like a wonderful location. I say we have a meet down there as soon as possible (and just ignore the people who say it is too fah!)
