Here is the area in the kitchen where pipe work will be done. The small wall on the left contains a riser. Behind the washer and dryer is a lateral pipe that may have to be replaced. Also behind the refrigerator on the opposite wall is the tube for the icemaker. But the plan is to cut open the hallway behind the refrigerator to access that. The cabinets you see were some of those piled up in the living room.

Guest bath demo for pipe work will be Feb 21. Rest of demo after pipe work is completed. Will be sharing pics of the process, as usual.

Tile man was here earlier. Rest of demo and restoration will start Mar 12, so no guest bath for about six weeks.

Now have all the specs for stuff needed to tile the bathroom, so I'm headed to the tile store tomorrow to firm up the order - 9 boxes of subway tile, 6 boxes of basketweave tile, sealant, grout, caulk, a large marble threshold piece for the shower, and a smaller piece for the bathroom door. I believe the salesperson told me if I sign up for a store account, I get a 20% discount, which is pretty good. I will probably do that, then pay it off on the first bill.

This is what the bath looks like now - the current bath floor is the same marble as the walls. The new shower and bath floors will be the basketweave. I thought about replacing the river stone in the shower with black/grey river stone, but decided the look would be better with the shower and bath floors the same. Walls will be the subway (pics above). The fixture wall you see is the one being torn out first (Feb 21) to enable the pipe people to replace risers and laterals, the reason this whole bath restoration has to be done.

Ms P I'm getting whiplash going from thread to thread, but I don't want to miss anything. Can you use one instead of two?

Sorry bout that...I prefer to keep them separate because they are separate projects, even though related this time around in the sense the pipes have to be done before the restoration is. This one will have all the restoration pics and process from start to finish. From here on out, that one will just have some pipe work pics to add to the ones already there from Phase 1. Once the pipes are done early March, that thread will wrap up and this one will continue on for another month or so. Hope that works OK for you!

Also, the pipe thread will have pics of the kitchen pipe work and some in the master dressing room closet, which are not related to this thread. Fortunately, the kitchen will not have any restoration work, just drywall removal, replacement, and painting. Very glad about that!!

OK...everything bought and paid for. Delivery early Mar. The delivery service will only bring the stuff to the loading dock, so it will be my responsibility to get it up to the apt. Guess I will be recruiting the +1 and maybe my tile man to help. Those 15 boxes of tile will be very heavy!
P.S. Just got the weight for the delivery - 873 lbs!

The condo association doesn't provide hand trucks to borrow for just such occasions?
