Default Need recommendations for new sedan

Trying to decide a pruchase of either Hyundai Genesis 3.8 AWD, Infiniti Q50, or the hybrid Toyota Avalon. I drove the Avalon and Genesis and both are impressive. The Hyundai is larger inside than the Avalon and has very impressive technology features such as smart braking and lane assist (keeps you centered in the lane). The Avalon has impressive gas mileage (39 mpg). I want to test drive the Infiniti Q50 sometime in the next few days. I've never owned a Korean car, so I don't know how well they hold up. Consumer Reports is still testing the Genesis, but previous versions got high marks from them.

Anyone have an opinion on either of these 3 cars?

We owned 4 Lexus sedans ES300 (1999) to ES350 (2007) and loved them. Very comfortable, and the last one had good performance and very nice interior styling. They are glorified Toyota's but they are priced well. We decided to go with the BMW X3 this time because of the extra space when driving to Florida. Check em out.

While Toyota makes good cars, hybrid’s with all the electrical components would not be high on my list and the Avalon I tested years ago was no fun to drive. The styling of the Q50 is better but Car & Driver really bashed the electronic steering of the latest version on their online review. The Genesis would be my first leaning but I’ve no actual experience with any of them. Hyundai has their act together and I would have no concerns with them as a company, other than their growth rate.

My cousin has an earlier model Genesis and he loves it. The new ones are greatly improved.

How much do all of those cost, what colors do they come in, and how comfortable are they for the passenger?

Just wondering...

It's only money and you can't take it with you.

Dave, I agree with you.

At goblueS2K's age (and how long he keeps cars), this is likely going to be the last (or one of the last) new cars that he buys.

So, he might as well splurge and get what he wants.

Within reason, of course.

i agree that Hyundai has its act together. If I were in the market for that size vehicle I would seriously consider the Hyundai Genesis. I have had an Infiniti and we didn't like it very well. I know a few people who drive one or another of the Hyundai models and they all love them. Brand loyalty is high. Great warranty, too.

or e350 4-matic although the new C is supposed to be a little bigger than the old one.
for what it's worth, a CPO E class is a heck of a deal right now, with unlimited mileage warranty .
