If you don't have part D, you can go online at goodrx.com and print off a coupon. Locally the cost is around $230., with the goodrx coupon it's $150.00.

Goblue got an email from a former co-worker who is now retired. She goes to the same primary care doctor that I go to.

Our friend said that she had just gotten her Shingrix shot at the doctor office. I think it was her first dose.

She said that they told her that they usually only get 4 to 6 doses shipped at a time, but this time they got 30!

So, I called the doctor office right away to see if they had it in stock and whether they would be saving one for me (my second dose) for my Oct 2 appointment. She told me that since I already had an appointment and that it would be my second dose, that unless there were some "unforeseen circumstances," they would have a dose for me.

I asked about rescheduling my appointment anyway. So, now I will be getting it next Tuesday Sept 25 instead of Oct 2.

My first dose was on July 3, so this is within the guidelines of 2 to 6 months later.

I know someone else here in Ohio who has still not been able to get the first dose! She has been waiting for several months now. The pharmacy is supposed to call her when they have it in, but they have not called her yet. However, I have a feeling that my friend would not call them.

That appears to be a common situation.

They told us they only get a few doses a week at best. It could be awhile.

I got my second dose of Shingrix today at the doctor office.

Have any of you been successful in getting your first or second dose yet?

I consider that goblue and I are lucky in that we have both been able to get our two doses already.

Hopefully, we are protected for the rest of our lives.
