No more S2000 after MY2006
I just heard from my brother's friend's uncle's neighbour's 2nd cousin whoworks as a cleaner for a garage that services Fords that Honda will stop manufacture of the S2000 after the next year. That means your S2000 will be a collector's item, and instantly double in value.
This guy works with cars so IT MUST BE TRUE!
(sorry couldn't resist. Am I the first one to start iwth this subject??? )

Actually model year 2000 was the last year of the S2000. Since then they're really just Civics in drag.

Even if it is the last year, there is certain to be something in the works to replace it.
Now that the NSX is being replaced with a aluminum framed, carbonfiber bodied, V10 powered monster it really opens up the possibilities of what Honda can do with a 2seat roadster.
I'm really happy with my current car, but I've got a feeling I better start saving money for whatever they replace it with.

After six years of hearing that this is the last year, I also question betond 2006. Honda is bringing back the CRX, and I would be a bit surprised if they kept two 2-seater sports cars. , but we will see.

Actually, I would expect that Honda's decisions regarding the S2000 depend heavily on what percentage of their sales are in Europe. Europe (well, parts of Europe anyway) has these new, weird pedestrian safety laws that I'm sure the S2000 with it's angled hood doesn't meet.
Actually, I'm not 100% certain of that; I don't really know what these regs are. I only know that many new models' front ends are being styled with them in mind.
