What happened to Gene's pics ???
|
Here's a pic I scanned using the iPhone app, that shows the ranch house near Deer Trail, Colorado, that my mother and her brothers and sister lived in until her teen years (she was the oldest) The photo being held up in the foreground is of the house when they lived there, and the background is the house as it appeared back in the 80's, when my cousin visited there. In 2012, I attended S2KDays in Golden, CO, and on the way I tried to find the house, but no one in the town that I talked to could help me find it. :(
(My mom is on the right, her sister on the far left, and her two brothers in the middle. I have that original picture somewhere, so maybe I'll find it someday.) https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.s2k...47039fc640.jpg |
Cool shot Gene. Sometimes you can find really neat photos without leaving the house. I recently found this shot of the house I lived in throughout my teens. It's the one on the right. I found it on Goggle Maps. I am still good friends with the lady in the house on the left; she is 91 years old. I had planned to stop and visit with her on the way to Spring Fling but we had to cancel that trip.

Gene, there was another house from my youth that I was looking for that was half a dozen blocks away. I just had a general idea of the direction and no street name. By using Goggle Maps street level views I was able to locate it, although it took some time.

I should put this in the pet thread but it's going here. I had to put down my almost 19 year-old cat, Crystal, last month and neither of my two cats will ever be a lap cat. Talia is too independent and Zion is too skittish. I visited a different Petsmart from the one I volunteer at and found this orange lover, Honey. I may have to adopt him. I'll bet he'd love to go to Kennedy with me, like Crystal did.
