Acadia- first attempt to see Cadillac Mountain...Now, I'm a big guy, and I was getting blown around pretty bad.

Well blow me away. I'm sorry to say I never heard of this place. So I just looked it up and found this very neat site explaining it.

Sorry the weather did not cooperate. Maine is beautiful when you can see it. Did you get a second chance?

Been there, done that. The day we were there it was cold and very windy.

Cool picture, Gary! We've been there three or four times at least. Weather at the top can be most unpredictable. June of 2016 was the last time we went, and I think we had the best weather for daytime viewing vs previous trips. I'll see if I can grab a pic. We've tried to catch sunsets there a couple times, no dice. We have yet to attempt a sunrise, but it's on the "to do" list. Rick is talking about renting a little cottage here http://www.emeryscottages.com and just staying in that area, for at least four/five days instead of going from place to place. We rented there in 2016. Small, quaint, clean place. We may see if we can get a slightly larger cottage next time. Photos lifted from FB

Little beach at the cottage we stayed at, not far from Acadia Park.

And you were there during the acclaimed “Best times to visit Acadia”. Sorry for the unseasonable weather. I typically have the same luck when vacationing…inclement weather seems to accompany me.

Deb, the picture of your grand niece fishing is adorable!

It reminds of of this picture of our granddaughter, Josie, on Mother's Day 2008, when she was 4 1/2 years old.

Isn't this how you always dress when you go fishing...in your short, pink, girly dress, pink tights, and pink sandals?

Where has the time gone...she will be 14 years old in about a month.

Pretty in pink, with a fishing pole! Time has flown by, Sue.

A stop along the way on our color tour yesterday. I am always amazed at how good the iPhone camera is! Who let that Jag in there? All together we had 20 show up.
