Awesome Gene. You'll think me a real hick but I don't recall ever giving the towers any thought; in fact I doubt I even knew of them before 9/11 since I had not been to NYC since sometime in the early 60s...................... watching it live as I did that day on TV after the wife called me from work I sure as hell know them now as does the rest of us hicks.

You got my curiosity up, so I dug out my logbooks to see when I made that trip. It could have been taken on one of the following dates:

July 1, 1994 to visit Bea's sister in Vermont
October 3,1998 to attend Bea's nephew's wedding in Maine
September 25, 1999 to attend a co-worker's wedding in Massachusetts

I have flown that route more times than that, but those are the only times that Bea accompanied me.

After Jim's (S1997) request last night for help locating a member who attended SF12, I took a stroll down memory lane, looking at the photos.

This one is very special to me. Patty took the the photo, and commented it was her favorite of the meet. I agree. I the road trips in the S with my guy to see the S2000 folks. These meets are truly some of the most fun we have. Dave and Donna attended this meet in their MGA. Donna is a trooper in my book. No AC, limited space for "stuff" and hitting the road in a vehicle that is not quite new. Rick and Dave shared a "few" Black and Tan beers. We were all a few years younger too...However, this was also Maury's last meet. His smile and laugh are still with us though. My "Maury magnet" is still in the lid of the trunk. We see him smile every time we open the trunk.

Vintage meets truly rock!

Great photo capturing Maury's personality along with a lovely couple!

I recall in the 'early' days of S2000 meets attendees were always taking pictures of the S2000's and I would preach don't worry about taking pictures of the car's as they will be the same in 20 years. Take pictures of the people. Thankfully Patty always did a wonderful job. These days with iPhones way more photos usually get taken at events.

The world's first ElliptiGO. And we were led to believe it was a recent revelation. Hmm...

^Interesting! Can you give me more information on that? Can you email me the image?

I was killing time on Saturday while the grandson attended a birthday party. I went to a Portuguese Market Place with my camera (s). I had the 50 mm on one and the 18-200 on the other. The 50 mm can present a challenge so it was a good learning experience.

Here's some with the 50. They are not all as sharp as I'd like (still learning) and darn I cut the side of the bread dish off...... Oh and I had cake for lunch!

My comment is to keep it up! I love every one of those images! The rose looks like the one and only one I took out of the ground when I moved out of the Acton house in 2008. I don't remember its name and it only survived a year in Orange County in a pot.
