^ My cousin has a gorgeous house on the beach in Cannon Beach. Also a house in Chandler, AZ and a "cabin" in Pinetops, AZ. She doesn't have all those cars, though.

Guess you gotta make your choices:

House Poor

or

Car Poor

Well, she could afford any number of cars she wants. Very wealthy. But she's not a car collector.

As a life long gearhead, I've always appreciated the intrinsic beauty of mechanical objects. Automobiles are my particular expression of that passion. What enchants me about the S is the way it becomes an extension of me and I of it, a result I surmise of the level of attention driving one demands. That in itself keeps my interest and excitement high. I hope I never view my car as an appliance.

....even though I'm a Tree Hugger of sorts

I enjoy driving all of our cars in different ways:

'03 S2000

'06 Prius

'95 Odyssey

I even offered to trade the Pantera a couple of years ago, but the salesman did not know what a Pantera is so that didn't go anywhere. I offered the Pantera and $30,000 for a pretty yellow and black Ford GT at the local Ford stealership.
I do know what a Pantera is and that would have been a pretty sweet deal for YOU.

I have to state that there are a few types of people that I find to be an irritation to us "motor heads". The people that buy a car simply for the status and never really "drive it". I.E. Some people that buy or lease an AMG MB and have NO CLUE as to what the car is about. The other type regards vehicles as a "necessary evil" as an appliance to get from point A to point B. These same people are generally the ones that one sees with the cheapest tire that they could find on their luxury car because all tires are created equal. Black, round, and made with rubber.

I guess I am not asking if anyone is willing to swear off the toys you have, but rather do yuo still have the fire to spend all availible cash on the latest and greatest in the automotive world?

I shouldn't be in this section. I'm only 20 and owned my s2k cr for a few months lol.

I totally understand what the OP means which is why I want to post. Honestly new cars don't seem to do it for me anymore. Sometimes my own car doesn't. It's not that I want a new car sometimes I don't even care. I do have a depression problem which may have something to do with this. But I keep finding myself wanting more out of life than another car higher in the automotive food chain than my s2k. Like I was thinking of going to a 370z..but then I realized I didn't even care. What would be the point? I would have more horsepower!!!cool....My all time dream car has been a supra, and I really really want one, but just not as much.

But just concerning cars...New cars, they are nice, but I could honestly care less anymore. The only cars I really would like to own being realistic are...MK4 Supra, k20 eg/ek hatch, corolla ae86, r34 skyline. If I ever wanted a luxury car...maybe like really old lexus and just make it minty fresh.
