One 2018 Honda CR-V Owner’s Experience
#41
Dave,
When I sold my 1987 Fiat/Bertone X-1/9 Liz decided if we were going to have a spare car we should at least have something reliable and useful. That was about 3 years ago. We bought a 2012 Certified Pre Owned CRV-EX from our local Honda dealer with 32,000 miles on it. I never wanted one, nor did Liz. In the three years that we've owned it we've come to love it. It's become our weekend car. It's been to Ohio twice and Virginia Beach a number of times. We've put 42,000 absolutely trouble free miles on it in the three years that we've owned it. It does everything we need from weekly trips to recycling to emergency trips to Home Depot and everything else a vehicle of its kind should do.
Last week we had brutally cold weather here in New Jersey (4* F). My Si is only 1.5 years old, but it wouldn't start. It turns out the battery went bad (replaced free under warranty by Honda). I had an appointment that I had to get to. Unfortunately my Si was blocking the driveway. and there was 5 inches of snow on the lawn. I got into the CR-V, started it right up,drove on the lawn, through the snow, off the curb and was on my way.
I will never be without a CR-V. As much as I hate SUVs, that how much I love my CR-V. It's bigger than I like, the handling is sloppy and clumsy, it's not anywhere near as fuel efficient as my Si and not as much fun to drive as the S2000 or the Si, but I love our CR-V. (And it's the Urban Titanium color, maybe the ugliest color Honda has ever put on a car).

Rob, people with older CR-Vs are extremely happy with them. Why not, they don't have the troublesome 1.5L turbo. To say the CR-V is important to Honda is an understatement as it is now its best-selling vehicle, eclipsing the Accord. Honda Motor Co. certainly isn't living up to its name with the turbo since Honda has no good solution. Word of mouth by upset loyal Honda owners will impact future sales.
