Ah, yes. I had forgotten that "Mama" from the Carol Burnett Show was also a singer.

And I was living in Georgia at the time, as well.

OK. Amazingly these guys only had one top-ten hit: The Wall (Part 2). Their second best effort, Money from Dark Side of the Moon, peaked at 13 on the Billboard Hot 100. All down hill after that as Run Like Hell from The Wall could only make it to number 73. So lets call Pink Floyd a 1.5 Hit Wonder.

Nobody ever accused Pink Floyd of being overly commercial.

And on the Country side we have this one hit that made it to Number 1 on both the Country and Pop charts. It would be 14 years before anyone matched this feat. "Dolly Parton "9 to 5")

Please forgive me for posting this, but I just saw it referenced in an article about a DJ I used to listen to where Rick also worked at one time:

Who could forget. Good one, Gene.

I was an occasional "Great 68" listener when I lived in the Mississippi Delta and Rick was working at WMPS AM 680 in Memphis. Dees was actually a pretty funny AM jock back then. I was working weekends on air at WSWG in Greenwood at the time ("The Delta's fifty thousand watt blowtorch"). It was FM but pretty much an AM top 40 format so I was interested in Dees' shtick.
