Mississippi State is headed to the Gator...er...Taxslayer Bowl on Dec. 30 to play Louisville and QB Lamar Jackson, last year's Heisman winner. We lost to our arch-rival after our outstanding QB ended up with his foot on backwards in his first offensive series. So we lost the chance to play in the Citrus Bowl. It was a gruesome injury but he will be back next season. Meanwhile a true freshman gets the start in Jacksonville. Could be a long night.

We lost our head coach, Dan Mullen, to the Florida Gators a day or two later. He took our outstanding defensive coordinator with him. Now he's going after MSU commits.

Rough end to what was a really nice season.
