The lack of activity on this thread is puzzling to me. Although there isn't a need for BS, I would've thought that being of the Viet Nam vintage years, and the draft, there would've been more of "us." I guess "vintage owners" must be full of 4-Fs and draft dodgers?

24 years ago, today, I raised my hand and said "I promise..."
I retired 2 years ago. I still tell stories about those experiences.

My grandfather served 29 years befor retiring as a Master Gunnery Sergeant in the USMC. My dad served a tour in Vietnam in the USMC. Had I not been born blind in one eye, I have no doubts that I would have tried for Annapolis and likely gone into the military. As weird as it is for me to think how very different my life would have been that way, I still have a deep appreciation for our men and women in the service.
