Here are a few...I'll add some more when I get back the other roll of film. Most of them are self-explanatory. The Pere Lachaise Cemetery is where many famous people are buried, such as Chopin, Edith Piaf, Maria Callas, Yves Montand and Simone Signoret, Rossini, Isadora Duncan, Sarah Bernhardt and Oscar Wilde. But the most famous grave of all is that of Jim Morrison, lead singer of the Doors. The gravesite has been a mecca for all sorts of people since his death in 1971. And subject to lots of looting. There used to be a bust of his head there but someone took it.
I have been to the house where Chopin was born in the countryside outside of Warsaw, Poland. I think that it is interesting that like Italy and Columbus that Poland claims Chopin as their most famous son. When in fact he left Poland and lived most of his adult life in France. I see the irony in this.
Great pics, thanks
