In October, 2013 I purchased Oakley prescription sunglass. Within the two-year warranty the lens became defective with a delamination that significantly clouded the lenses. The lenses were replaced in July, 2015. Previously in this thread I recommended them. Now, in slightly over a year, the same defect has happened again in the replacement lens!

Today Luxottica, the company that manufactures Oakley, as well as Ray-Ban and several other brands, refused to replace the defective lenses that delaminated.

This website has a membership list that is 7,084 pages long with 20 members per page. Do the math and that is 142,000 people. I wish everyone of them could read this post.

DO NOT BUY OAKLEY, or any other brand manufactured by Luxottica as they will not stand behind the products.

That sucks! If they were $50 glasses you might roll with lousy warranty service but not with Oakleys. I'll keep that in mind when I replace my Oakleys with new lenses.

Lasik or Clear Lense Exchange.

The procedure for refractive lens exchange is virtually identical to cataract surgery. The difference is that in RLE, the lens being replaced is clear, rather than a cloudy lens due to a cataract.
Your cataract surgery / RLE might even be covered by insurance.

Then just buy off the shelf sunglasses.

Little primer on what a monopoly Luxotica has in the marketplace.

You don't have to pay a ton. After being electrocuted by prices at the brick and mortar "local" village store, even with my wife's health plan picking up 2/3 of the cost (I won't even tell you what a single pair of glasses ran) I went with Costco and Hong Kong.

Costco uses a plant down in San Diego for the lenses and I can tell you side by side with the high end retail glasses, identical prescription and features, they are superior.

THAT's amazing. Thanks for the link! Mine are still wearable but I don't know for how long since the 'cloud' coming from the bottom is spreading. Thanks again.

I have owned 3 pair of Oakley prescription glasses and my first pair did cloud up. Oakley replaced them, no questions. Got them in 2006. The other 2 were fine, although I did damage the 2nd pair.
