This second video carries the same message in a slightly different style and applies to almost everyone at this site. The Psychology of People Who Modify Their Cars.

This video was very insightful. Since I cannot restore classic cars, I can only admire people who do it and give them my utmost respect for their talent. Thank you for sharing.

A friend with a garage full of classics sent this note and pix with the first video.

Getting ready to mount the 52 Jag body shell onto the chassis at the Belden Garage.....took 35 years to get to this point!

Even though I have been a long believer in "Maslow's hierachyy of needs I found this rather interesting,

IMHO: His basic theory was that all human beings have the basic needs for the following things:
  • Food (which we cannot live without)
  • Shelter (which we seek from the elements)
  • And the need to be loved (which did not happen to procreate the human race would die off)
As I have stated before: As I have been around the world and have stepped foot on all seven continents. All people that inhabit this earth have these three things in common. If all of the governments of the world would transfer their defense budgets into travel vouchers so that their populations could travel that is the best shot of having world peace we will ever have. As the language may be different, the food may be different , and the customs may be different. But in the end we all want the same things. It is a shame that greed and the need for power gets in the way.

Dream on. Sadly, this will never happen in today’s world.

I love watching the vehicle restoration shows on TV. My favorites are :
Bitchin Rides
Fantom Works
Chasing Classic Cars
Garage Squad
Texas Metal
My landscaper took his wife’s 67 Mustang fastback out to Bitchin rides and had Dave Kindig do a restoration. It was unbelievable. Dave is my favorite restorer.

Unfortunately throughout the history of "mankind" (AKA Peoplekind) it has NEVER happened because there have always been people that want what someone else has either through greed or the lust for power. I am too much of a realist to think that would ever really happen. However after traveling too thirty-four countries on all seven continents it has been my observation that we as the human race all want the basics that Maslow pointed out in his hierarchy of needs. It is a shame that not all people think that way. One the other hand, IMHO organized religion is also to blame. As more people have been killed in the name of (what ever) GOD they believe in than for any other reason in history.

Without raining on your well put parade, it is true that in the last century, more people died in country from socialism/communism than from all the world's wars, declared or undeclared, combined. The god Karl Marx gave birth to.
