We lost "Hobie" Alter this past Saturday. If there is a S2000 of sailing, it is his "Hobie 16" catamaran. He also revolutionized the surfing world with his invention of foam filled surfboards. The man knew how to have fun.

RIP, and thanks for all the days 'flying' a hull !!!

Although I own a sail craft from a Hobie competitor of much smaller market share, similar to thanking Mazda for the Miata which helped make Honda's S2000 viable in the marketplace, I've rented a Hobie in the past and appreciate the ingenuity in making fun sailing craft for almost anyone who would care to try a Hobiecat. Thank you 'Hobie', for your contribution to sport and healthful recreation.
