Re Civic Type R - Honda listens...maybe

I don't know this for a fact, but I've been told that the Type-R is not selling well. Personally, I think its the price. $34,000 for what starts its life as a Civic seems like a lot of money to me (and I love Civics). I bet if they lowered the price to about $28,000 and did something about the wing the car would fly out of the showrooms.

Maggie,
My understanding is that the Type-R is made in England. I don't think you'd have an issue with the tariff, but we would stateside.
My Si, i think, is made in Canada. I paid about $26,000 for my Si, with Mr. Trump's tariff it would be $32,500. A bit much for a car that starts its life as a Civic.

As much as I like Honda's products, and I know that some of America's best young engineers work for them, I have to admit that their marketing department needs an overhaul. I don't think they really understand the market. I really think they have a great car in the Type-R (wing notwithstanding) but they don't know how to price or market it.
