We're doing it again. Four years in a row and everyone had a great time, so we're going to do it for the fifth time. Staunton, VA: has some great restaurants, super nice people and amazing roads. We'll drive Rt 250, eat lunch at High's in Monterey and return by some great back roads to the Hampton Inn to rest and relax. We'll visit Wright's Dairy Rite to relive those high school cruising nights (minus the zits and angst), and maybe even have a really fine dinner somewhere. Afterwards? Who knows, maybe we'll indulge in serious socializing.

You can show up on Thursday, June 27 if you'd like but the official start to the fun is Friday, June 28 . It'll be great to see you in Staunton. Come early and hang out by the pool

I have a friend who lived in Staunton. He moved near us in Lewes and we became friends. He and I are avid golfers. When he was a young guy he caddied at Greenbriar, an exclusive resort in White Sulpher Springs. He caddied for Sam Snead for 6 years and was allowed to play occasionally for free. He was a 1 handicap back then. Sam played with Palmer, Nicklaus, Watson, Floyd, Lanny and Bobby Watkins and Tiger as well as other great PGA tour pros. Charlie told me that after Sam’s rounds he would take these guys to dinner at the Greenbriar or other well known restaurants in the area. One evening they were at dinner and Tiger left the table for a pee break. When he returned someone else picked up the tab. Charlie said he did this a few other time he played there. Sam told Charlie, his caddy, some real interesting stories about some of these guys.
