Get the counter installed and updated. get the house on the market, sold and then we'll see.
I have a meeting with my director tomorrow for another reason but It might get interesting.

for this egregious failure I got kicked in the balls.
Ahhhh.... The world of corporate management. ...... How well I knew it....!!!!!!

My wife has the theory they had to take it from someone to give someone else a bigger raise this year.
It was my turn in the barrel.

$hit happens in Corp life. I was once promised a very nice raise at a time when we really could have used it but when nothing showed up after a couple months I went to the Personal Dept thinking it was just paper screw up. They so no, they hadn't seen anything. When I went to see the boss about it, he said the budget was tighter than he thought it would be and he had to give my raise to get another employee to relocate to join the team. As I said, $hit happens in Corp life. If he only knew how much that cost him in the long run he would be turning over in his grave..... and that's all I'll say on that - my lips are sealed.

Sorry to hear that this has all gone sideways. That is one of the reasons I tried to spend nearly my entire career in start-ups. By the time that corporate culture crept into everyday, I would move to the next. I certainly never fit into that mold. It sucks that you are the current "fish in the barrel". I am sure that you will be making serious decisions using this as a baseline.

Personally I hated the idea of working in that dog-eat-dog corporate culture.

I can't imagine working in that kind of environment, Jerry. My boring old office job had it's perks, I guess.

An announcement has been mailed to our customers and vendors regarding my departure. I just got a call from a long time boat storage customer wishing me well, which was nice. He was one of the few storage customers who didn't drive me totally

I'm not sure of your exact age, Jerry, but at certain point management starts seeing older workers as part of the past and younger workers as part of the future. In that light, you can guess who gets the bumps and who does not. The "older" worker is a low-risk insult. People with five or fewer years to retirement are not likely to jump ship, even if you treat them inequitably.

Another possibility is someone amongst the higher-ups needed a bigger bonus. In that case, again, short changing and oldster is the easy source of funding.
