RIP John McCain

While I did not agree with some his politics I did like him for his integrity. RIP

I agreed with almost all of his positions on matters that came into the public light. Even when I questioned his initial reactions, I would end up agreeing with him after I thought things through. And we often agreed when many others from his own party disagreed. We need more like him, yet none exist.

A man who loved his country and served it for his entire adult life. Did not agree with his politics, but admired him for this confidence and for sticking to his values, many of which I agree with.
The US lost one the last of his kind.

Lindsay Graham's Eulogy on the floor on the Senate was worth listing too.

I saw John McCain and other POWs when they returned from Vietnam in Coronado. Including Stockdale. Five of my friend's fathers perished as Naval Aviators in Vietnam. Many took turns speaking of their experience as POWs to Coronado High School I attended and graduated from at the time. Lots of questions and answers. Sobering. A reality check. Coronado was at that time, just a quaint Navy town where everyone knew everyone else. I had the pleasure of working with a seven year POW Naval Aviator when I was a JO in Pensacola Florida as an instructor pilot.
I have refrained from commenting on this thread. I have always thought you should never speak ill of the dead. ............. McCain was not always seen in such positive light as a young Naval Officer from his peers, classmates, superiors or as a Senator in his relations with those in the military and civil aviation.
I still wish and pray for eternal peace of his soul.
