Didn't meant to go that route, just commenting on a previous post, probably should not have done so; would like to see this thread remain here. FWIW, I DO think of McCain in a positive light and appreciate his service.

I wonder how many of us on here have always been "viewed in the most positive light" by our peers? I know I probably haven't at different times. Sometimes fairly, sometimes bullshit, and I am sure sometimes because people did not view things in context. The man served his country, the man died. Go post in the political area if you want to debate his politics. I am sure we all have mixed views of his politics. That does not belong here. It is so easy for people to hop on those keyboards and stir up s#it for no reason where others are just trying to pay their respects. Do you do this at work? Do you go over into a group of people saying "oh no, so and so died" and butt in to start talking crap on the person? If so, you are a douche. If not, which is likely most peoples answer, then don't do it online either. Again, you can go talk about that in the appropriate area.

I thought all the remarks made by the different speakers at the funeral were very good. I had not seen Henry Kissinger in a long time.

I just watched some of the tributes. Moving.

I thought Mr Obama (as well as others) did a beautiful job. "We were on the same team."

I think ragtophardtop may not be aware that we have a Politics subforum for overtly political discussion/comments. Of course, he can't post there because he is not an S2Ki member. But Matt, you certainly are aware of it. So your posting here is definitely intended to be inflammatory and is uncalled for. I hope Jim will delete offending posts rather than moving the discussion to Politics, but that is indeed where it may end up. Too bad...

I was off line for a while yesterday. I have deleted offending posts and notified the offending posters. Please, let’s use the Politics Subforum for explicit political comments of any kind. We are not interested in your personal political views here. And there are posting rules that are abundantly clear. Thanks...
