Jim,
I'm still thinking your wife's vehicle would have been a lot more comfortable.

Haha, Mercedes Man! Dream on... That was my first choice, but Chris wouldn‘t part with it for so long a time. Actually you would be surprized at how quiet and solid and comfortable the new Jeep JLU is. And the family needed a vehicle with more seating capacity to lv in Colorado, ergo the 2005 Jeep to my daughter. Coop‘s Lexus V8 is extensively modified, so it would rival most any serious Jeep in most any terrain.

The Jeep is fun to drive on the hwy! Speed limit is 80 mph in Utah and Idaho. This is my rig just outside of Durango yesterday morning. We made it to Pocatello, Idaho yesterday. Great group of people on the trip!

Here is a short intro to Lake Louise's history. It's interesting...

"When the Canadian Pacific Railway first worked its way through the towering Rocky Mountains in the late 1800s, a railroad horse wrangler named Thomas Wilson happened to meet up with a group of local Stoney Indians at Kicking Horse Pass. They told him of the Lake of Little Fishes, a magical body of water tucked deep into the high mountain valley just above the planned railway line. They took him to the lake in August of 1882, which he immediately recognised as something truly special, christening it Emerald Lake due to its color.

In 1884, the name of the lake was changed to Lake Louise in honour of Princess Louise Caroline Alberta, the daughter of England's Queen Victoria and even more importantly, the wife of the then Governor General of Canada, the Marquis of Lorne. Recognising the lake as a premier destination for mountaineers and a major promotion for the railroad, the Canadian Pacific Railway built the first modest log cabin on the shores in 1890 and began receiving adventurous guests."

There is another building that houses the Fairmont hotel workers. It's a rather isolated area, so easier to live up there than down in town.

"A simple, single level log cabin was the first accommodation in 1890 at the shore of Lake Louise, a far contrast to the Fairmont Chateau hotel today that has over 548 rooms."

So much spectacular scenery everywhere, it will be hard to figure out how to edit all the pics/videos! I assume you are sleeping in a tent, but can you sleep in that little trailer if you want to? With your legs sticking out.

The trailer is a sleeper with kitchen in the back bay. It looks larger from this angle. On one side the bed is 6‘9 long“. On the other side it is just 6‘. Lots of storage. I‘ll post some pics.
