One regret I have is throwing away most of my cassette tapes when CD's took over. Now there's a market for these! I also have a Kenwood tape deck that still functional. My brother took my dad's Nakamichi tape deck from the 80's and also his reel to reel (can't recall the brand) but last we looked both were still worth some nice money!

I wonder when 8 tracks are gonna make a comeback.

I still have dozens of cassettes too. My Pioneer CTF-900 is in storage but worked the last time I tried it (about a year ago).

I still have my Phillips GA-212 Turn Table that I bought in 1980 with a Ortofon Variable Magnetic Shunt cartridge that I have refused to get rid of (even though I have not listened to it for years. At the time, it was considered to be one of the best turn tables on the market. I recently did a search and was a bit disappointed that it was not worth more $.

Phillips GA-212 seems to have some electronic doo-dads on it. At least, parts are still available on eBay. If you ever get around to wanting to restore it, Vinyl Asylum has some vintage turntable nuts on it. Including me (FenderLover)

Yesterday I was informed of the new Technic series of SL-1200G. From a technical stand point, what do you turn table enthusiasts think and do these improvements justify the cost?

States with the new drive enhancements and changes it eliminates cogging amongst other things.
