September road trip planning
We are starting to plan a September driving vacation through upstate NY, Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine. We would really appreciate any suggestions from Vintage folks who have been there, on routes, things to see, and places to stay and to eat. We plan to take two or three weeks, and have no set itinerary yet except we'd like to spend a few days at Acadia NP in Maine. We intend to drive mostly back roads for about 4 hours a day, and would like to avoid cities and traffic, and see as many of the interesting/unusual sights as feasible. Your recommendations would be happily accepted.

They have amazing twisty roads in VT, specialy the 100 et 108 between Jeffersonville and Brandon, really nice view point and curves in the Green Mountain National Forest.
Highly recommended !!!

I would HIGHLY recommend a stop in Camden Maine. It is a truly charming town. We stayed at the Best Western there which is a block off the main drag. It is more like an Inn than a motel or hotel. They have a court yard behind the lobby with a camp fire every night and canisters with the ingredients to make Smores.
When we where there, we sat around the fire with others on chairs and had some interesting conversations while most people indulged in their favorite libation(s).
Here are a few pictures of Camden. The stream flows down under the Main Street in town and flows into the sea. The public library has a great view while taking advantage of the their free wifi.
