It's a pretty long drive for me but I'll try to make it.

Are you gonna trailer the S since it's so far?

I suppose I can make it without a trailer.

I went on a drive today to preview the route (about 100 miles) and came away with the following observations:

The route for the drive (with a bit of tweaking) will be great.

The Acura NSX regardless of model year is a really pretty car. Especially in red with the revealed headlights. They're also fast and apparently handle quite well.

Betty is still up for more than I am especially with the Kumhos I had on the car today.

Some folks are much more comfortable than I running speeds well in excess of the posted limits on public roads.

Gender has absolutely no bearing with regard to driving an S2000 as above.

If I do get left behind when conditions permit I can catch back up rather quickly.

All in all this is going to be a great meet.

There are quite a few of them here, relatively speaking. I have not had the chance to drive one yet, but I have sat in them and checked them out closely. I think it's going to be my next car. Martha wants the S, so I told her that I would trade.

It looks to be a great one. Too bad I won't be able to make it.

Mike, I enjoyed meeting you yesterday and running a test-drive of the route.

After spending that 3 hours riding with the 6 S's, 4 NSX's and the lone Porche, I can't imagine what it'll be like having 10 such groups parading through the mountains that day.

This is shaping up to a really interesting event ... what a way to get my first one in.

Same here Chuck.

I'm thinking I want no part of anything more than a 3rd gear group though!

Thats a GREAT location for a car meet. It has everything - hills, twisties, history, good food, things to see and do. We drove to a meet there a few years ago with the MGA crowd and loved it. The timing doesn't work for me but I'd recommend it for anyone who can make it.

Yeah ... I need to stay in the middle myself ... I try not to let myself get stupid with things at work/home/in the car ... and I find that planning ahead a little gives me fewer opportunities to forget that self-control.
