What could possibly go wrong.?
It's like riding a bike, you don't forget.*

*And just like riding a bike, it stills hurts like hell when you fall.

So, what's the status on skating? Many years ago our granddaughter had a roller skating party for her birthday. I was in my early 50's I was the only adult skating for quite a while. I felt pretty good about that. A couple years later she had another skating party. By then I think I had both of my rotator cuff surgeries. I put on a pair of skates, rolled around the rink once and took them off. I was too fearful of falling. Many years have passed I won't be putting on skates anytime soon, I choose my activities carefully.

Speaking of getting old.............I decided to do some heavier/spring cleaning in our living room. That type of cleaning has become more of a chore with various aches going on. I took a few shortcuts. Now I know why I don't do that in every room twice a year anymore. To top it off, door frames and window frames were hardly dusty at all.

^ I have to check out some rinks around here. Before I get to ice skating, I might have to get my inline skates on first and see how I feel. I noticed inline skating is not as popular as it used to be decades ago. It was a common scene years ago but not so much now. Inline skating is not as cool as it used to be, I guess. Just imagine salt and pepper old man with inline skates. We do have skate park in my neighborhood so I will get out there and check it out. I am sure my wife will be rolling her eyes.

I loved four-wheel skates and would drive to Santa Monica Beach in CA to go on the boardwalk/path/sidewalk when I was around 19. I bought ice rink skates and put big skateboard wheels on them before it was a thing. I see people on the path in Loveland with inline skates on occasion.

I use to love ice skating. Growing up we had Oberlin College’s rink right down the street from our house. I was there every chance I got!

Speaking of Canadians..............looks like having great grandparents born in Canada would also make me a Canadian citizen. My sister has the naturalization papers for one of my great grandparents, but I'd need a lot of birth certificates to send in the paperwork in order to get the official certificate. I don't think I'll do that. Rick's nephew happy about the new law. He is sending in his paperwork with the thoughts of actually moving to Canada at some point.

My Grandfather was born in Canada so maybe I qualify. I’ve been practicing, I consider Vermont Canada ‘lite’.

We would love to have the good ones move here. I do think it will take a lot of "getting-used to" for many Americans moving here, the day to day things are still very much different in Canada. We as Canadians just take everything , good or bad, we don't complain and we accept things and take it on the chin for the most part if we don't like something. Our medical system is really being strained too, we need more American doctors to come here like they have been doing in past months. We had a good medical system until some idiot decided to import 10 million more people, now we have a housing crisis that never existed before and obviously the medical system can't keep up.

My wife needs birth certificates from her family to get Portuguese citizenship, I keep pushing her to do it before some of her family members pass away and it will be harder to do , not impossible , just harder.

My sister is actively looking into this. I told her I'd split the costs of the required birth certificates, with her. As of now, she is having a bit of difficulty. When she received a copy of my grandfather's birth certificate, his name was spelled incorrectly. Often when records were updated, there may have been some typos. She's also having trouble pinning down where our great grandfather was born.
She has his naturalization papers, but the spelling of his first name differs on other paperwork that she has, and his date of birth could be 1863 OR 1864. Another bit of research and she said he may have been born in France, though his naturalization papers here in the US list him as a British citizen.

Rob, if you can get the paperwork to show the descent, you are in! Technically, you are already in, but if you want to have the official paperwork, gotta do some paperwork.
