A lawyer cartoon for Bill (drawn by an ex-lawyer!) Really, Stephan Pastis gave up his law career to become a full-time cartoonist, in case you don't follow Pearls.

Funny stuff, Gene. Stephen Pastis, an insurance defense litigation attorney that became a cartoonist of “Pearls Before Swine’’. Hilarious, even though most of his works are not attorney related.

My sister is very talented. Lawyer by day and this week furniture upholsterer at night She's taken classes and done some nice work on chairs. My wing chair is next on her list. It's her first wing chair. I assisted at class last night and my arms and hands are aching today. Lots of staples to be removed. No wonder it costs so much to have furniture redone. It's a lot of work

What happened to that chair and why did you save it?

The chair didn't look like that until after we got started on it....It did have some cat claw damage on one side. Chairs are expensive and this is a good one. It will be cheaper to re-do than buy new.

That makes sense. I'm not familiar with wing chairs. I had my dining room chairs reapolstererd after my cat, Zoro, used the backs for scratching posts.

The vacation thread and talking about Bermuda fish chowder got me jonesing for some.
We went to the grocery store tonight and tomorrow I give it a go.

It better turn out good, between the fish, shrimp, clams and other goodies it's not a cheap dish.

It's going to be a long weekend. One of my wife's sisters died suddenly and totally unexpectedly on Monday. She was only 69! As they say Enjoy Every Day, You Never Know. Her funeral is this Saturday. We have relatives coming in from out of state. Lots of in-state travel to airports, funeral home, etc. We are a couple hours one way travel to everywhere we need to be every day. Thankfully, the weather forecast is for just a couple days of light snow over the next half dozen days.
