Such a terrible situation sorry for the loss of your friend's home, and for what so many are dealing with.

I didn't have a great week at work....I'm in an "annoyed" mode more often than not. That date I have in my head for retirement may get pushed up a couple of months. On top of the work issue, there was just a lot of unpleasantness to the week. This afternoon I got a return call from a customer who did not show up as scheduled for his boat hauling. He totally forgot about it ; he placed his wife in Hospice care today. Suddenly my week wasn't so bad after all.

Just ordered a couple of things from Eddie Bauer. They are having a 40% discount countdown to Black Friday. Pretty good deal. Promotion word COUNTDOWN. And they have free shipping.

I ordered two tops and lined jeans on L.L.Bean. They have 25% off ending today and that's the best deal they ever give. I use their Visa so I get free shipping and free returns. That helps a lot.

Patricia, I think you like shopping as much as I do, which is not a whole hell of a lot! I decided to head out this weekend as some of my gym clothing was in need of replacing. I did OK with sales and coupons. I'm not buying much more than the basics. My work attire is mostly jeans with presentable tops, and I can't remember the last time we went anywhere that I wore something other than jeans, and that's OK in my world.
When I retire, my closet will get weeded out. My wardrobe will be gym wear, jeans and the most casual of clothing. I'm not one to keep clothing I don't wear, so that project won't take too long.

I never go to malls. I buy most of my clothes from LLBean, Lands End and Costco with shoes from Amazon or Zappos. I'll visit Kohl's when I have a 30% off coupon. I just finally found some brushed- back satin nightgowns online and I love them!

I'm not a mall fan myself. I try Macy's on line, Amazon, and sometimes, I do hit the mall, but only for specific stores.

Donna's not a Mall girl or an internet shopper (except for horse stuff) but she does like to toss lots of $$$$ on riding clothes (shops and catalogs). Believe me those riding britches are way over priced, I should know they are always on her birthday and xmas wish list.

I think I still have my riding britches and boots from years ago when I rode and competed. The boots still fit but the britches would probably go over one leg now. I always think of going to the riding center in Rock Creek Park but just have not done it.

Amelia Earhart Quote:
The most difficult thing is the decision to act, the rest is merely tenacity"
These words are on printed on papers and placed on the risers of the stadium stairs at the Y.
Translation: "Get of your A$$ and get to the gym. "

It's kind of cool to see the quotes which they change weekly. Always motivating. I have time to kill before one class, so I go up and down the stairs 15-20 times is the goal. Going down is easy, going up stadium stairs not so easy. Gets the heart pumping though. I don't even attempt to go quickly....I'm not that crazy, or that young.
