You met Kyle and Jen when you dropped me off at their home in March. Well, my daughter has an interview for a job there in Denver on Sunday. I'm not posting names or positions, yet. If she gets the job and moves to Colorado it's going to mean my that sister, son and daughter all live there. I'll be seriously looking for a home there, too. I'll most likely keep my house in Trabuco Canyon, and buy one within 30 minutes of Niwot. I'd like to see the value of my current home increase and make sure I can deal with winter before selling here. I may just keep it to get away from CO in the winter. I'm very excited. I've always loved Colorado since my sister moved there 24 years ago and I've been there many times for car meets and other vacations.
That would be great if you could move here, Patty…even though it may be seasonally adjusted. Your brownie recipe may need some “high altitude” tweaking to look as delicious as before.

I hope your daughter gets the job here. I’m guessing she’s interviewing with the Denver Zoo, which is an excellent facility, so is the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo. There’s also a wildlife sanctuary nearby that’s very good.

If it comes to be -and- If there’s anything I can help you with while locating Colorado properties please let me know.

I need help understanding these specs for my Kubota GL-6500S diesel generator, specifically the engine oil capacity. That line says, Engine Oil Capacity [Gal (Liter)]3.17 (3.0)

So, I read it as 3.17 gallons = 3.0 liters, which I know is wrong. I was told by the guy who I asked to service it that it takes 1 gallon. WTF? I don't understand what "[Gal (Liter)]" means, then. I know that 1 US gallon = 3.785 liters and 1 liter = 0.264 gallons. Perhaps the 3.17 is the wrong number and 3.0 liters is correct? If it takes 3.0 liters of oil that would mean .792 gallons of oil. (This is the generator I have up at my 5th wheel trailer in it's own generator shed at Kennedy Meadows, CA in the eastern Sierras.)

If I look at the line above that in the specs, Fuel Tank Capacity [Gal (Liter)]5.02 (19) it makes sense. The fuel tank does take over 5 gallons of diesel fuel which would be over 18.9 liters. So, is it just a F up on the specs when it comes to the Engine oil capacity?

Patty, First of all, I don't know anything about generators.

However, I do think that the "Engine oil capacity" line is wrong.

I think it should probably say "Engine Oil Capacity "[Qt (Liter)]3.17 (3.0)". I think that it should say Qt, instead of Gal.

That is, 3.17 quarts or 3.0 Liters, which would make sense, because 1 quart = .946353 Liters or 1 Liter = 1.05669 quarts.

(And, 3.17 quarts is equal to 0.7925 gallons.)

So, I think it would use 3.17 quarts, or 0.7925 gallons, or 3.0 Liters.

My $0.02: The oil capacity should read Qts (Liter)3.17 (3.0). Just a bad translation from the original Japanese.
(1 quart = 0.946353 liters.)
When you go to the Google conversion app, it works!

Patty you also need to pay close attention to the oil change interval.
generators have a notoriously short interval, like 100 hours.

Sue, Gene and Jerry, thank you. That does make sense. I hadn't even thought about quarts. Duh.

Jerry, yes, it's supposed to be changed every 100 hours. The last time I had the oil changed was at 808.6 hours on the clock and it's now at about 905 hours. The bad thing is that last oil change was 6 years ago. My ex uswd

Taken on 4-2-2017.

The bad thing is that last oil change was 6 years ago. My ex used to change it religiously every year but it got about 90 hours a year when he was around. I lined up a guy to change it for me at Kennedy Meadows since he used to work on generators and also has a place up there. On the other hand, the last oil change was under my ownership and it was also 6 years since the time before.
