Now the next part of our saga.....
The panel that shows the temps, type of ice being made, etc..... has died... along with being able to get ice out, and water from the fridge...
One day old, and the frickin thing is acting up...
Time to check on that extended warranty!

Service guy was done in 5 minutes. I'm thinking they have had this problem before, as he went straight to the problem connection.

The last frig we bought, an LG, listed near $3k but we got it for half that. Since its the first we've had with an ice maker I have to say I love it.

Glue and double sided tape is just messy and it never really holds.
Pop rivets.

Our appliances are about as "Plain Jane" (Basic white) as one can buy. Less "stuff" to break down the line. I didn't even bother having an ice maker installed. We rarely use ice and we know the recipe. I would like a new stove, but only for appearance sake. It works just fine, it's just "dated", so it's on the never ending list of things to do/buy for the house.

If you buy a new refrigerator make sure to get the extended warranty. Some brands change models so often they don't have parts for fridges even a couple years old. (I've read reports on LG as the worst)
We bought all new appliances when we moved into our remodeled home (and I mean every appliance) and the refrigerator will be the first thing to break down, per our appliance store owner. (he's been in the biz over 40 years). That's the only thing we paid for an extended warranty on.
Our backup fridge in the garage is at least 30 years old and just keeps ticking.

Oh and we should not forget the never ending list of things for the "toys" you know, like tires, detailing products, accessories, hotel rooms to attend meets, important stuff like that!....
