Spring Fling Group (creepy) Drive Add-on
So as some of you may or may not know, This years Spring Fling location happens to be near a very notorious location that some of you may be interested in seeing. My wife and I will be drive leaders for one of the group drives. Due to family obligations, I was unable to make the test run with the other drivers this past weekend. I assured Maury that my wife and I along with the kids woud make the run in our Mountaineer to familiarize ourselves and to possibly add another couple of routes to the run that Maury felt was a little to short and lacked some fun roads.
So to make a long story short, we realized that the Cemetary from the opening scene from the famous movie, Night of the Living Dead just so happens to be right in the area we will be rolling past. We took a quick detour to check it out and were amazed to see that the place has changed very little since 1968 when the movie was filmed. We thought it might be fun to include the cemetary as part of the group drive. Check out these vid clips when you have some time. The first one shows the cemetary today and the next 2 are the first few scences from the movie. Good stuff. So funny by todays standards.

I might be up to join your drive group, but it's up to Maury. I know that "newbies" sometimes don't have a "fan club" like some of the regular
Like you, I also have a strange affinity to cemeteries. During the summer I usually visit the cemeteries where my forebears are planted...not far from the small towns where my dad and mother's families lived in the 1800s. I have "mapped" where the family gravesites are located....thanks to my dad and a cousin showing 'em to me back in the 1980s. All of these have graves dating back to Revolutionary War times.
I have some digital pics but the video is much more eerie

This is certainly a grave topic. Hope it doesn't get burried among the other threads because posting ground to a halt.

I think Aldo's addition of the cemetery is perfect for this drive and will be added on to each group. Great memories in the video
