I just bought this at Bass Pro Shop.

https://www.basspro.com/shop/en/ipro...ductextensions

I got it for $13 off the list price and just as importantly, I got to see it in person before I bought it. It is a lot less expensive than the models I was looking at on line, it uses AA batteries, it is "waterproof" up to 1 meter, is has the spot-light and zoom function and five settings. It has a good feel to it. I like the finger relief on the sides. Given the environment this will be used in, I feel better spending less.

And with 6 batteries you can knock the fish out cold.

Not really a complaint more than an observation. The flashlight goes through some batteries...

Do you like it, Bill? I think that is the same flashlight as the Nebo Redline Blast 1400. Is it plastic bodied or aluminum?

It is aluminum and I like it very much. I use it to check on the boats at night. I can see them just fine from my back deck over 100 feet away. It seems to light up the boats and mooring balls in the river quite well from my dock, but I have not used it to navigate at night yet. The AA batteries have not needed replacement yet, but the use has only been three or four minutes at a time.

I recently bought a Klarus G20L LED rechargeable flashlight. It is very bright (3,000 lumens), but not all that slim or pocketable.

It came with a nylon belt holster. Needless to say, it is the brightest flashlight in my flashlight collection. One nice feature is that it charges via a USB cable, so no need for a bulky power supply.
