The Thirteenth Annual Tomcatt Memorial Meet
 

The THIRTEENTH Annual Tomcatt Memorial Meet will take place the weekend of June 15-17, 2018.

For those Vintagers who may not know, this event is named in honor of our dear friend Tom Curda (AKA Tomcatt), who passed away May 24th, 2006. Rt. 26 was his all-time favorite driving roads. This May marks the 12th anniversary of his passing.

To participate in this event, you must be either a participant from a previous meet, or be known to someone of Vintage age who will vouch for you. If there are any questions on this, please PM me. Also, the point of this event, as you will see below, requires that each participant take part in the entire weekend. Attending just for the purposes of the drive is not enough.

Only one thing I would like to request in this thread: I request that you read the paragraph about full participation in the event. There are some who feel that the event is starting to unravel, with folks heading off in their own directions without warning, or skipping meals that have been arranged for the group at a local dining establishment. This event is what it is, and remains fairly unchanged over the years for a reason (actually, for a multitude of reasons). If you choose to attend, I respectfully request that you abide by the spirit of this event, a spirit fed by the friendship and comradery that started this whole thing so many years ago.
Hotel:
I have reserved a block of 20 rooms at the Hampton Inn in Marietta for Friday, June 15th & Saturday, June 16th. The phone number is 740-373-5353. When calling for your reservation, tell them you are with the Honda Tomcatt Run. Room cost is $100. The reserved rooms are mostly standard doubles, but there are 5 rooms with a King bed. The block of rooms will be held until approximately May 25th, 2018. If there are any questions or issues, our contact is Doug Reese.

Please post your interest in this thread. Do not post about your preferred drive group – I’m not tracking that info. We’re grownups – we can split into 2 fairly even groups, and a touring group, without hand-holding, I think.

As before, there will be a small per-car charge to cover the magnet and some post-dinner snacks.
