Default Toronto Plane Crash

Sorry to hear that a Delta plane has crashed at Toronto - Pearson International Airport. It's been a tough few weeks for plane travel.

All aboard have survived as far as we know right now , but three persons are in critical condition and perhaps 8-10 others injured to some degree. It looked like tough windy conditions to land in, the plane was a on a bad angle as it touched down in a crosswind, snow and ice on the ground in extreme cold temps. We just got through the largest snow storm of past years that hit us this weekend.

The plane is upside down, there are no wings on the plane , no tail, some fire was present. Almost all passengers walked off the plane onto the tarmac.

A couple good things went right. There was a fast emergency response on the ground, the fire was extinguished. Medical helicopters were on site ready to evacuate people immediately. Toronto has some of he best trauma hospitals in the world (maybe 8-10), including Sick Kids hospital for the one young child injured. They are probably 5-10 minutes away by medical helicopters max, , so they would get a very fast treatment which is important for trauma. Lets hope they all survive.

Thank God there were no deaths. There have been too many tragic plane crashes lately.

yeah I saw that and was not sure if to believe my eyes that the plane was sitting upside down (blurry pic) ... but sounds like it was! I certainly hope there are no deaths or serious injuries!

I saw a youtube short of someone from the crash showing the upside down plane but wasn't sure of any details. Then saw it was all over every news source you can think of. Crazy that no one was killed. Hopefully those in critical condition will make it.

If the video is correct it looked like a very hard landing, then bouncing and breaking parts

I can’t imagine being upside down in that plane. So glad they were all buckled up or there could have been some deaths.

I'll gladly take being upside down given some of the more dramatic alternatives.

I imagine they would have to replace most of the seats after the recoloring done by passengers.

So, the plane comes to a stop and they're all hanging upside down? You are free to move about the cabin after you unhook your belt and fall on your head? I'm trying to imagine that. Of course you're scared to death.

Briefing going on now…it is incredible that only two passengers remain hospitalized. None died. Just amazing. Thanks to the efforts of crew and responders. And IMO the fact that the fuselage largely remained intact.
