I''ve been to the Serengeti and seen lions up close there. This is way beyond stupid!

It's gonna take a lot to drag my arm away from you
There's nothing that a hundred men or more could ever do
I lost my brains down in Africa

The song you're paraphrasing includes these lyrics: " As sure as Kilimanjaro rises like Olympus above the Serengeti." Mt. Kilimanjaro is 195 miles away from the Serengeti. That's like saying : "As sure as Mt. Whitney rises like Olympus above Los Angeles."

I blame Walt Disney Studios. They make wild animals seem like loving, sentient beings that mostly live together in peace and harmony with the exception of a few villainous examples that you can identify right away by their narrow, sneaky looking eyes. I'm sure that like many people in this world, these vacationers have had no real education about the animal kingdom beyond watching The Lion King or The Jungle Book. I can't blame the parents because they don't raise the kids anymore. It's all up to the schools (that are busy teaching other things), and our entertainment industry.
