Default Two way radio sale at Office Max

If you haven't bought your two way radio yet there is a sale at Office Max. This from today's (10/12/03) sale flyer. The unit for $9.99 after rebates looks like a good deal.

Now I'm more confused than ever. The 2nd one says "FRS" radio but it has a 5 mile range. I thought it was that new one (CMRS...or something like that) that required a license for 5 mile range.

The 5720 is also GMRS.

The cheapest FRS with ~14 channels is all that you need for S2000 drives. If you want an ear bud/mic (a good idea), then you may need a more upscale model.

I think the ear bud/mic are requirements. I've been on too many trips where the dang radio is flying around the passenger seat.

What i can't stand is that cashiers today can't count up change. If something costs $5.43 and you give them $6.00, the only way most can determine the change is to look at the register for the answer $0.57.

Before these reg. came into existence, you would add .02 to get to .45, a nickel to get to 50 and then put in 2 quarters.

Have you ever tried to give a different amount to a cashier (after the register has determined the change), it's scary, most don't know what to do. I even had one cashier tell me that she could not do it because the register would know she did it differently and would get in trouble.
