I worked at Ford dealership for about 4years. currently own 2016 F150 4x4 2.7ecoboost as my DD. First gen 3.5eco is beast. They do have some issues but since you are asking this in S2000 forum i am going to assume you know how to work the wrench. You can find low mileage Top of trim like Limited or Ranch edition for good price. Instead of 5.4 did you consider Ecoboost? low end torque and you can also get it tuned for shits and giggles.
