The difference will be huge, and you'll be able to tow a semi, I could just go on and on.

My wife has the real truck ('16 Silverado) as I'm not worthy of a proper truck. I wish she didn't get a black one though, it's way too masculine for a woman

Yeah, that's waaaaaaay too masculine for me. Especially the name. I guess I'll stick with my "light-duty" Ridgeline, it has little bit of a lilt to the name.

Yeah, I see a number of SUVs that seem to be pretty inexpensive. But if I do this, it is going to be a truck.

Just because you can doesn't mean you should. When that tail starts wagging that dog, it's gonna get ugly, and get ugly FAST.

Bill, I strongly suspect you know what I would encourage you to buy. The Ford F-Series has been America’s best-selling truck for 40 consecutive years with more than 26 million trucks sold since 1977. I bought my 1997 F150 with 55,000 miles on it in 2008 for $5,800. Since then I've put another 55,000 miles on it. The biggest expense has been replacing all the brake lines and the front shocks. Since its now 20 years old, this year I had to replace the original alternator, starter, and fan belt. With a 4.6L V8 and being full size, towing is no issue. I get 17 mpg pulling my boat. Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, all 12' of it.
Honestly, I would not hesitate to buy one that was 5-10 years old with reasonable mileage. For grins I just looked up its value on Kelly, $4,000.

Thanks Dave. I've been looking. In fact, they were my first choice. It is very difficult to find an F-150 4x4 with low mileage for $5K.

au contraire mon frère, it actually is a hell of a tow vehicle. even has towing stability dynamics built in, so that tail don't wag that fine canine.

but.... since Bill needs wants a truck maybe he should just get the Ford Super Duty F450 Platinum crew cab with the 6.7L POWER STROKE® V8 TURBO DIESEL for 440 HP and 925 Lb-Ft of torque.
Heck it's got 48 gallon fuel tank.
He could keep the pilot in the back for when he runs out of fuel.

You know just in case the QE2 gets stuck again and needs to get pulled ashore for repairs.

I bet it comes with a free big belt buckle and a big hat.

Bill, mine is not a 4x4 but if I thought I would be backing into water a lot, that's the better choice.

LB I have never looked at a Ridgeline before, have no idea what resale is. Thought I'd look at Craigslist since California has so many vehicles there might be a deal.
Here's one looked good to me:
2009, 4WD, 3.5 CV6 VTEC, only 51K miles, sunroof, tow pkg, etc etc $16,000.
How does that compare with Mass prices?
