I drove home tonight on the highway after a late meeting in Windsor, weather was good until I got 15 minutes from home then the visibility was terrible. I have to say that is my least favourite driving condition, when you can't see more than 30 feet ahead of the vehicle due to blowing snow. You lose sight of the lanes and you fear crashing into slow or stopped vehicles ahead of you, I put the hazards on to keep people from crashing into me. It is kind of like heavy fog but the blowing snow is more confusing. I just hate that, and I've only had to drive through it a couple times in my life.

I feel like I'm back living in California and bragging about my weather but I just finished a walk in the dark in Loveland, Colorado and it's 55°! That's the high of the day.

*EDIT* ^It's warmed up since my walk! The humidity has also come down and the wind has picked up. Fire weather.

We peaked at 44℉ today, with heavy rain.
Hopefully it was enough to finish off the little snow left on the roof.
bring on the solar installers.

Many of us who live in the north have had that experience at least once. Driving totally blind and knowing you can't stop does make one pucker up.

It makes one wish for very bright orange blinking strobes on your car.

yeah it is the worst experience, mine was at night but it can happen in daylight too. Flipping to high beams makes it worse, my fog lights helped a bit. Being near a transport truck helps at times but I had no visibility of vehicles in front of me or behind me when it got real bad. I was able to see my exit at the very last second and jumped off the highway as fast as I could. Some of the roads were closed down for the night as I was getting home.

I wish we had more cars with rear fog lights here, like Europe has.

I drove across the PA turnpike in a blinding snow storm with nothing but my hazard lights and a yellow strobe light. I was much more stupid back then!!

14 degree wind chill walking back to my car after morning social hour with the Y ladies. Now I'm home in my warm house and not going anywhere else today.

We won't be cold in our home. If we have to budget, the money will have to come from elsewhere, maybe the food or or M&M budget?
