Lately I've not been too concerned over the threat of global warming.

If you've ever found yourself on pure ice you can relate to this, the feeling is gut wrenching as you are totally helpless

I have dealt with ice quite a few times while driving. In my Tacoma on a few occasions I was sliding down a hill and luckily I wasn’t going fast so I was able to put the transmission in reverse and hit the gas, I call this move ‘reverse thrust’ so I was able to stop but it’s a sketchy move. In my other Toyota pickup I was going down a very large hill and that was a standard so I went down in first gear and put the transfer case in 4 wd low. Took a long time to get down the hill but I made it.

Snow/Ice tires really matter.
I used to ski with the kids on friday afternoons.
One cold bright sunny day, just as we were a leaving around sundown, a quick snow squall came through.
It wasn't much more than half an inch but it was more than enough.
The snow hit the pavement warmed by the sun, melted and instantly refroze.

Rt 2 is two eastbound lanes and two westbound lanes but very hilly in that area.
Folks were slip sliding all over teh place.
I had fresh Blizzaks on my front drive millenia.
It was excuse me, pardon me, excuse me, coming through picking my way through traffic like it was just a fat parking lot.
