Vintage is two years old!
Although I'm relatively new around here, I'm finding this corner of S2KI to be a welcome relief from many of the other general discussion areas. Somewhere (else), there's a thread about the average age of S2K owners, with too many pages over too long a time period to calculate a real average (unless you really, really need a life); but my impression was that the average is mid- to late-20s. The other forums reflect this in both topics raised and attitudes expressed, I think.
Not that things are all sweetness and light here -- I got pretty well flamed for what I thought was mild support for the NCAA decision about Indian mascots; but that was nothing compared to what I got for posting a picture of a shift-knob on the gallery a while back (their thoughts on wood grain were, um, less than positive). And my post there was meant only to illustrate that it's possible to use universal knobs instead of just the ones advertised by the vendors here -- everyone missed that little nugget and focused on how candidly they could express their displeasure instead. (Just to head off gasps of dismay at the concept of wood grain in an S, I've now got a black leather Momo Anatomico knob, which goes nicely with the black interior and feels much better than the stock knob.)
So I add my congratulations to the two-year survival (and prosperity) of Vintage and wish it well for the future. I'll be here for a while. HPH

If you like wooden gearshift knobs take a look at this
https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showt...+gearshift+knob
If they flamed you, what do you think they'd say to me? This is the gearshift knob in my S.

I'm glad you like it here.

It has been a pleasure to meet with the Vintage Group. SF05 was great and all the discussions threads. Looking forward to many more years.
