Brick and Hardie Plank lap siding. All of which is being primed and painted as I type this. Taupe with off-white trim and new black shutters. My pool patio deck is also being painted to match the house.

Neither. Our house has stone, brick, and HardiePlank siding. This is a composite that is cement based, but will eventually require re-painting (it is 11 years old, and still looking good!) It looks just like wood, but doesn't have all the bad features of wood siding. I would recommend it for anyone thinking of re-siding their house or building a new one.
Same as mine.

TX is predominantly brick or stone, so low/no real maintenance FTW!!

It's common to have stucco outside walls here in So Cal. My house is painted stucco. My Acton house was stained wood which I loved but it's a maintenance nightmare in the dry desert.

Vinyl is final, and we just re-vinyled as we got tired of the old color that was on it after 30 years.

After having to paint the trim once. The next time it needed it, it got capped with vinyl. I like NO MAINTENANCE.

Bill, if I can make a suggestion on the windows. We went with Oxford windows They are triple pane and quadruple coated.

The demonstration is truly impressive involving a heat lamp and some miniature Oxford and Anderson windows. They guarantee your energy savings with a money back guarantee. Our house is all electric and they did cut our energy bill substantially. The ROI is there.

The first thing that we both noticed on day one was how much quieter our house was. That turned out to be a added bonus.
