Default Warn status

I noticed that I have a "warn status" when I post. What's that all about? My mail box is not full is it?

If you're a bad boy on S2KI, I believe the Mods can give you some kind of warning. No one but you sees your warn status.

I think you're safe from being banned.

I think that everyone will see the words, "warn status" under their own profile, but unless you click on the words, "warn status," and there are some notes under it, with a warning, you are not in a "warn status."

There was some discussion about this in another thread:

What is warn status?

Here is one of the comments under that thread:

"EVERYONE sees a line item in their own profile that says "Warn Status". If there is nothing after it, then you are not on "warn status". The feature apparently has always been there. It's just that now you can see your own status and only your own. Mods, as always, apparently can see everyone's "warn status". It lets them keep track of who is on double secret probation."

I think that you are probably safe, Jet sitter.

Sound's too much like "big brother" to me, I think I'll stop posting to this website.

or more importantly, stop giving them money for the privilege to do so.

maybe I'm a control freak but it's a way of saying we have control over you and don't forget it.
it would be like making you have a speeding ticket counter installed on your dashboard.

It doesn't bother me at all (this question arose before). I've seen the postings in other areas of the forum that merit such a feature. It is not of any concern for anyone who regularly posts in Vintage.

I agree, Val. It doesn't bother me at all, either. I highly doubt that it is ever much needed in Vintage.

I think that it is a good thing to have in place, though, should the occasion ever arise that someone needs to be warned. Since it is seen only by the person warned, I see no harm in it at all.

Yep.. I wouldn't worry too much about it.. it's more geared towards spammers and some of the idiots that get into internet pissy fits in off topic..

well, and Mike....and Scoots.... I'm surprised they are still allowed to post on the site given their behavior ...
