Default What companies do you know & love?

How did they stack up? See link at the end.

The Axios Harris Poll 100 reputation rankings
This survey is the result of a new partnership between Axios and Harris Poll to gauge the reputation of the most visible brands in America, based on 20 years of Harris Poll research.

Methodology: The Axios Harris Poll 100 survey was conducted November through January in a nationally representative sample. One group, 6,118 U.S. adults, was asked to identify the two companies they believe have the best and worst reputations. Then, the 100 “most visible companies” were ranked by a second group of 18,228 adults across key measures of corporate reputation.

#1 Wegmans – ranked #1 before.... and I never heard of them; a supermarket company with 98 stores in the NE
#2 Amazon – this one I’ve heard of
#3 Patagonia – another one I had to look up; outdoor clothing
and so it went (these I knew)... LLBean, Walt Disney, Publix, Samsung, P&G,

When it comes to autos you can read Honda two ways depending on what you want to prove. Honda was the #1 auto company for recognition and favorable reputation. However, it dropped big time from last year.

#36 Honda - Down 17 places in the rankings
#37 Toyota - Up 5
#42 Tesla Motors - Down 39
#58 Ford - Down 1
#61 Hyundai - Down 5
#70 General Motors - Down 6
#71 Volkswagen - Up 2
#85 Fiat Chrysler - Down 6

Here is the complete list: Source: https://www.axios.com/axios-harris-p...2bb4b01ed.html

Wegman's is a great grocery store, I wish I had one closer.
I wear a lot of Patagonia, Marmut, North Face, and LL Bean they are very good long wearing clothing lines.
The rest of the list looked similar to what I would expect.

We are familiar with Publix grocery stores from visting my daughter. I can understand why they rated so high; I wish we had one close by.

No Wegmans in this neck of the woods. Never heard of Patagonia.

I find it strange that Microsoft is at #9. I absolutely hate that company!

I would buy more Patagonia and LL Bean but with no stores reasonably close it makes it hard to try on.

Boeing at #19. That may change!

I find this type of list to be useless. For example, I read one last week with the company Intuit was somewhere around #20. Intuit isn't on this list at all. Microsoft is number 9 on this list but was much lower on other lists I've seen. I'm a big fan of Microsoft, but I doubt that it should be number 9.

I don't find these lists worth much.

I love Coast Roast, a local small batch coffee roaster.
I love Ben & Jerry's, or at least their products.
Not too many other companies that I can say I love. There are a few others I like.

No Publix here, unfortunately. They don't come this far West. We are stuck in Winn Dixie country, a chain with stores that are just ok, which is probably why a lot of them in the Southeast have closed. The only other grocery stores we have within five miles are a Walmart Supercenter and a Froogel's. The Walmart Supercenter is well above the average Walmart Supercenter as far as groceries go but that's not saying much.

We have been "Wegmanized ". Once one shops there you like me will not want to shop anywhere else. It is a family owned chain out of Rochester, NY. The founding Father had a simple philosophy: "Treat your employees well, and they will treat your customers well" (If you treat your employees badly they will take it out on one's customers). They have expanded south out of Rochester, NY into VA. When they opened their first store in Dulles, VA. The police had to direct traffic and in the first twenty minutes that the store was opened all 890 shopping carts were being used.

We were first introduced to Wegmans by a couple that we know in Pheonixville, PA while visiting with them years ago. After we had brunch this "forty something" couple said something that sounded a bit weird: "Let us take you to a grocery store unlike one that you have never been to before". They were right.

It is a super market that also has a food bar, in house bakery, sub shop, coffee bar, sushi bar, etc.
If there are more than three people on line they will open another cashier line. I have been in our local Wegmans when they have had twenty-eight cashiers opened.

They have a cheese department that has over 400 types of cheeses with a staff that is trained.
