what to do in an air crash
so they recently crashed a plane, on purpose news story
it was on one of the cable channels last night.
one element i found amusing was that bracing for impact by hugging your knees is likely to reduce back injuries.
I found this amusing. the way that they have most seats jammed into planes, I'm lucky if I can see my knees never mind hug them.
Now that there is data supporting it, I would love to minimum standards on seat spacing that accommodated REAL humans not just the lower 50% height group.
he says while packing for the next trip

^ Meant to watch that, but missed it. Best wishes on your trip. Flying anyplace is not on our agenda for the forseeable future. +1 cannot stand being packed in like a sardine either. He began to hate flying (commercially) years ago.

Reminder to self...Need to watch that show before fly to Hartford next week.
But then again grabbing you knees won't help when the seat breaks away from the floor ala, American Airlines.

In the aviation business, there's an acronym for two engine aircraft flying over water. It's called ETOPS (Extended Twin Operations). We used to say that it really stood for Engines Turning Or Passengers Swimming.
