I think most folks would have hit lights out well before 8.5 Gs.

Great story. I read that once before. I had a friend in the AF who was friends with Francis Gary Powers, who was shot down in 1960 over the Soviet Union piloting a U2 spy place, the predecessor to the SR 71 Blaclbird. He spent time in a Soviet prison and was eventually traded for the Soviet spy Rudolf Abel in 1962. He was a newscaster pilot in a helicopter over LA doing traffic in 1977 when his copter ran out of fuel (faulty fuel gauge) and crashed. He and his photographer were killed.

On land I think about 140 in my old Ferrari 348TS. Not confidence inspiring at all!
On Track about 121 in my previous Laguna Blue S2000.
On the water, not much, maybe 45 or so in an old Wellcraft back in the 1980s.
In the air, Mach 2.14 (1,642 mph) on the Concorde flying back from England to Dulles in the summer of 1985.

My dad got his Ferrari 512 up to 185 at some point going up to Daytona for my brother's cross country meet in 1983 or so. I was not along for the ride though.

Mach 1.5 in an F-18 Hornet. Mach 1.2 in an A7E going straight down at full power. 140 mph on the Autobahn. Unknown speed on foot evading sudden attack upon disturbing a hornet nest in a shed.

Of course, you have never been lost before like you have been lost going supersonic, LOL!

He has me beat. Never did a centrifuge for straight Gs, but did do the it while trying to keep "level" as the centrifuge also rotated the cylinder you were in and the view through the window could change to induce vertigo. Different deal than straight Gs.

7 gs was the usual limit for the plane all day long but could go up to 9 and did. Beyond that an aircraft inspection was made. I might add I did experience a GLOC or G induced lack of consciousness for about 20 seconds pulling off target in an A4 at around 5 Gs as a student. Looked back to see the bomb hit and yanked the stick. Rookie mistake.

I saw this thread this AM. I guess I wasn't fully awake.

I thought the title said, "What is the FATTEST you have ever been?"

I did think that was an odd thread.

26 mph average in a 40k road race on my bicycle in the 2014 Delaware Senior Olympics. There was a head wind to contend with. I hit 38 mph with a tail wind.i I won the gold medal for the 70-74 age bracket and broke the state record by several minutes. I also won gold for the 5K and 10K time trials. I qualified for Nationals in Minnesota but couldn’t go.

Settle down, it was a joke. Not sure where you couldn't read the sarcasm. The wink emoji or the laughing emoji?
