Yeah, the older ones were definitely 'affordable' in the used market pre covid, got rather silly after that. Other issue is all the companies now making resto mods of the 964's and whatnot are making the used market silly. Before I bought mine I found a 2016 Targa 4S down in TX I wanted, we were headed down to visit family and it sold the week before we left so I missed out. That one was listed for $86k, it's more than likely double that now. Targa's are now $200k+ new. Just crazy how they've jumped.

Around 2011 I was looking for another fun car and found a 96 993 that was a few states away from me and I wasn’t able to go look at it right away and within 2 days it got snatched up by a well known used 911 dealer. A few weeks later it was on his website for over 10k of what it was sold for.

Gary-san Depending on which 911 you're leaning towards.
Go find an AMG GT ( base, S,C, or R) to test drive.
You may like what you find. Prices are creaping down.
Think 2x what an S2000 can do.
2x displacement and cylinders, more than 2x hp, 1/2 of 0-60 time.

I think there's something about the 911. I'm sure that mystique isn't what it used to be, but it is for me. It's surely not a keeper, it's a cool, I've got a 911 for 2 or 3 years. Then moving into something else is likely.

I tried the AMG GT before getting a 911. Didn't care for it at all and didn't handle as well I thought it would.

I may have a lurking bucket list entry.
I'd love to go storm chasing and see a tornado.

I like the idea of seeing Tornadoes , I would love to see a big one within a reasonable vantage point, not too far away but not too close. I've driven by a couple small tornadoes in past years, they are fascinating to see.

I always find it strange where people cross tornadoes while driving, you can often see them approaching from a distance, so the options are to stop , turn around, or change directions , driving into the tornado path or outrunning it doesn't seem like a good choice. I think some people don't have good spatial judgment
