Another three day weekend. Will use a week's worth of vacation prior to retirement. It's quiet right now anyway. Not too much on the agenda. I'll think of something.

Wow...what a fab meal. I had beef Burgundy and the +1 had a baguette sandwich with French salami, cukes, mustard and cornichons (little dill pickles). And shoestring fries. Then we split a millefeuille (means a thousand leaves) for dessert. It's layers of puff pastry with custard in between. The waiter noted it was my birthday brunch and brought me some profiteroles (little pastries). We have leftovers for tomorrow. If you are in DC, the restaurant is Le Diplomate. Very popular and packed today.

Oh and a couple of drinks. Kir royale for me and a bourbon drink called a Clouseau for the +1. Notice I did not post this in the diet thread.

I first had profiteroles in a little cafe in Paris. Never found any to match since!

I have tickets to the boat show and I hope I'm recovered enough to go this weekend.
